About The Southbury Fuel Bank

The Southbury Emergency Fuel Bank was established more than twenty five years ago to provide assistance towards heating expenses to both individuals and families of Southbury experiencing financial hardships. Funds for the Fuel Bank are solely raised through community donations. We are proud to report that every dollar donated goes directly into the Fuel Bank; 100% donation supported, which is overseen by a volunteer board. The Fuel Bank has been extremely fortunate to be a benefactor of the Tour De Tribury Bike and 5K walk which has raised over $90,000 over the past 16 years. With the support of community donations from residents, local businesses, charities, and the faith community, the Fuel Bank has been able to sustain and continuously provide for residents in need.

Individuals and families can request assistance from the Fuel Bank through the Town of Southbury Social and Elderly Service Departments. Potential clients are screened based on income/assets and need. During the recent economic period, coupled with the high cost of fuel, more residents than ever have requested help to ensure sufficient heat in their homes.

The Donations may be made directly to the Fuel Bank by mailing a check to the Social Service office or to:
